Carnivore feast at Pampa's Brazilian Steakhouse!

The title says it all. When I mean carnivore I mean it! At Pampa's Brazilian Steakhouse, the amount of meat offered will be enough meat to last you a week long! Upon walking in and leaving, the thing that was on my mind constantly was meat... If you are a vegetarian or not a fan of beef, chicken or pork, don't bother setting foot in this restaurant. You wouldn't want to be in there and they probably wouldn't want you in there complaining about the lack of vegetables offered minus the salad bar. I'm writing this post way late because I forgot about my trip here! For my birthday (in January), Raymond decided to take me to Pampa's. I personally LOVE meat, so this was a great choice on his part (after the big dinner...I don't recall having the same enthusiasm for meat..). I heard many cool things about this restaurant and did a quick Google search on the restaurant. This restaurant was actually featured on the food network show: The Opener.

We made reservations for 6:00 pm, but still had to wait about 10-15 mins until we were seated next to the washroom. I was worried the meat carvers would miss seeing us since we were tucked away into the corner, but we had a supervisor standing near us who helped redirect the carvers our way! Lucky for us! I ordered the pina colada to start, which was fantastic! They have a decent sized salad bar to start off your dinner which consisted of a variety of salads, greens, appetizers and pasta!

That night, they had special "cheese balls" for an extra $7, they were extremely soft and chewy, melt in your mouth - reminding me of "mochi" (a type of Japanese dessert made of glutinous rice). But considering the amount of food offered, this is not necessary.

The night is a neat experience that everyone should try at least once! You are given these special 'cards' with one side
being red, the other being green. Green = go! (more meat), Red = stop! (give me a breather). And the meat carvers work on this system, when they see green they come around, carve a piece of meat, you use tongs to retrieve it and they move on to the next table. Every night, they have 10 different selections of meat ranging from, chicken drumsticks to leg of lamb to bottom sirloin beef to garlic beef. Both of us managed to make it through all 10 rounds!

The waiter warned us to not go too 'hard' on the salad bar. Good advice! Most of the meat was juicy and flavorful. But at the same time, all the meats served were extremely salty! Out of the 10 selections, bottom sirloin was by far the best and the most tender.  Some of the meats were dry and tough as well, a reflection of the cutting (most of them were average cutting).

After many rounds of meat, we were extremely stuffed and settled for the chocolate mousse dessert. The dessert was very good, a nice rich, heavy, creamy smooth mousse on a soft cake/biscuit. But it was on the expensive side at $9.

Overall, the experience was unique and memorable! I recommend everyone going to this restaurant at least once. It is expensive, so be prepared to pay after adding on drinks, desserts etc. The total bill for the two of us came to $145 including alcohol. In addition, make sure you bring your appetite to the buffet!
